| Purpose | For preparing the substrate when installing underfloor (surface) heating and cooling. It protects the styrofoam of the thermal and sound insulation from the direct impact of cement and sharp screed particles. The same film is a barrier against moisture penetration into screeds and is prescribed by ISO/DIN standards. The printed raster grid enables a quick and precise pipe layout without using a measuring tape during installation. The pipes are fastened to the PE film on a flat styrofoam board by fixing POLY clamps for PE-X pipes (catalog number: 03-09) using the POLY tool (catalog number: 03-22). |
| Characteristics | The PE film is made of recycled LDPE, an extruded film, with additives to improve its mechanical properties. The thickness of the extruded PE film is 0.14 to 0.15 mm, i.e. 140–150 microns. It is printed on one side with a grid pattern in a 100×100 mm layout – solid lines with dashed lines in between at 50 mm. When laying, the PE films are joined together with adhesive tape. The film is extremely resistant to penetration, has the prescribed waterproof density and is flexible for efficient laying on flat styrofoam boards. It is installed by unrolling it manually from the roll. |
